…a little history on JP from all leather.

April 26, 2009

thats me and jp from all leather during sxsw this year… we are releasing their ep this summer and following their 5 song onslaught, we are releasing a remix ep from those tracks by congorock, nic sarno, his majesty andre, s.p.a., otto von shirach.

jp was in a few legendary bands as well…

STRUGGLE

i remember picking up this record at vinyl solution when i was 16. it was an important record at that time in my life. and the label ebullition records was one of the most important labels to me growing up listening to hardcore during my high school years.

that’s a live shot of SWING KIDS… with jose palofox on drums who happens to be one of the best drummers i’ve ever seen or heard. also a fucking legend. during this machine kills days i spent a few tours on the road with jose. he now has a phd in some area of research and is doing some community work in san francisco, but i could be dated on this. and since Swing Kids he’s been in a few bands with Mike Kirsch who is also another legend.

this is a pic of Some Girls. singer was in American Nightmare and Nathanlee Joyner from Some Girls is also in All Leather. Another influential hardcore band. My other band Esperanza played shows up the west coast with Some Girls and Das Oath 8 years back. brings it all back.

and this is The Locust, JP’s other main band which has been producing and touring for over 10 years plus. keep an eye out for more All Leather info and already The Bloody Beetroots have been playing out Congorock’s remix of All Leather while I’ve been playing His Majesty Andre’s remix a lot lately.

April 25, 2009

its 9 am sunday i slept for 2 hours. what the fuck. when i think about it, how little i sleep, i dont feel human.. on this entire trip ive had naps. and even before that i survive on them, literally. anyways, womb was off the hook and last night at onzieme in osaka was another good show. here are pics by thecobrasnake from the womb show….

i’ve had it the other way where the whole front row is a bunch of stoked dudes and i prefer this…

they have to all be carpooling together! and if the guy on the left was wearing blue shades it would be all in synch. i love japan.

jalouse!

PELICAN INSTORE IN OSAKA THEN ONZIEME!

April 24, 2009

tokyo at WOMB was crazy. i love that club. thats my second time playing there. its crazy. the kids are crazy. cobrasnake was there shooting away. i went shopping at GR8. bought some sick shoes. ate ramen noodles. don’t eat shark fin soup!!! boycott shark fin. i watched a documentary on the plane about how they kill thousands of sharks for their fins and dump in the ocean. its horrible. its 1 pm and my fone doesnt work and im heading to osaka by train wearing my new REVOLVER tees kiri gave to me. thanks kiri! and had dinner with Greger WESC and his crew, saw Johnny from KRS and crew at the local izakaya.. i missed a few people on this tokyo day trip that i wanted to see - Nobu, Matt Takei and Nigo, Justin Davis, Hiroshi F., actually i had some grapetizer next to Kiddie Land in Harajuku and tried to stop in to see Hiroshi but forgot how to get into his office. yeah so lots of people i missed out on and im bummed that i didnt see. this japan trip is too short. i m in osaka for less than 24 hours than i have to fly to Las VegASS to dj REhab. but Ill be at Pelican, a store that carries our dim mak tees selling dim mak sticker packs and some tees if they can supply em for me. then onzieme where i played with Shinichi Osawa about a year and a half ago. oh yeah and kenji from total fury came to the show! we played together through the west coast with Das Oath back in the day and on tour with Envy when This Machine kills came to Japan in 1999. Damn! i also opened up my set in WOmb with “Lies…” by Envy. miss you tokyo already… good bye!
